The Alfred Gillett Trust, a heritage charity based in Street, Somerset is looking for a Caretaker to join our team and help care for it's historic buildings.
The role is for 18 hours per week, with the addition of emergency call-out duties.
The successful applicant will work as part of the Administration team, who are responsible for organising and coordinating the Trusts operations, ensuring sites and services are well-maintained and that the Grade II listed building and the historic collections housed within it are protected.
You have responsibility for ensuring the Trust’s sites are safe and secure for staff, visitors and collections and will carry out a range of duties which contribute to the maintenance, repair and security of the Trust’s facilities. You will oversee the day-to-day upkeep of the site, unlocking the main site and grounds, keeping up-to-date with the maintenance logs and assisting the staff with general site manager duties as required. You will ideally have a background in facilities and/or maintenance and will be flexible, willing, helpful, friendly, energetic, able to work on their own initiative and an enthusiastic team player. The applicant must also live within a 30-minute distance radius of the Trust sites as you will be the first named security key holder – car essential.
