Dorothy House Hospice Care Community Engagement
14th Jun 2018

“A society where death is a part of life”

In partnership with Community First and the Community Council for Somerset, Dorothy House Hospice Care is undertaking a needs analysis within the Mendip community of what support is felt to be needed locally in terms of life-limiting illness: This might include support to both live well and die well and support with associated loss and bereavement.

For Dorothy House, growing their understanding of community need across their area is important if they are to realise their new Strategic Plan and ensure that everyone in their area has access to outstanding palliative and end of life care.

Community First is an early adopter of the Community Organising techniques and uses this approach as an open and effective way to meet and talk to local people on matters that are important to them.

The team will be visiting  Frome, Coleford and Shepton Mallet in June 2018, to talk to local people and find out what they have to say.

You can also share your experiences online at www.communityfirst.org.uk/dorothy-house.
