Spark have teamed up with the Big Lottery Fund, to hold a Dragon’ Den-style funding event for Sedgemoor based charities.
The Funding Den will give Sedgemoor groups the opportunity to pitch their projects to a live audience, for the chance to receive a Big Lottery grant of up to £10,000.
This can be used to pay for things such as equipment, special events, training costs, volunteer expenses, transport, and running costs.
Katherine Nolan, Manager at Spark said:
“We’re really excited to be holding this event, which will offer Sedgemoor groups a great opportunity to raise much needed funds and tell the community more about the brilliant work they do. I’d encourage anyone with a great idea for a project that will make a real difference to the Sedgemoor community, to get involved!”
Tom McCulloch, South West Regional Head of Funding at the Big Lottery Fund, said:
“We are delighted to support the Funding Den event. The Big Lottery Fund is increasingly working in funding partnership with a variety of different agencies to help community projects making a difference in their communities. And the fact that this is a first for us in Sedgemoor is very exciting.”
Anyone interested in applying can find out more and download an application form here or call Spark on 01935 475914. The deadline for applications is Friday 1st December.
The Funding Den will be taking place at the Princess Theatre in Burnham on Sea, at the end of January 2018, and members of the public are invited to join the event as part of the Audience. Free tickets will become available next month.
