Age UK Somerset are currently recruiting for an Information and Advice Officer based in Taunton.
This role is two days a week (Monday and Tuesday) with some occasional flexibility in working days.
The role of this job is to provide a high quality information and advice service to older people (primarily over the telephone) and to others needing assistance with issues affecting older people.
The role will involve carrying out benefit entitlement checks for older people, so relevant and recent knowledge of the benefits available from the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) is essential. The successful candidate must have excellent telephony and communication skills, be customer-facing and share our core aims and values. Accurate keyboard skills used for direct input to the database will also be required.
