YMCA Mendip are looking to recruit two new roles in Yeovil - one of which is a Team Leader (Floating Support).
All young people have huge potential but many struggle to achieve it because they lack the resources or self- belief or an example to inspire them. Could you coach, challenge and inspire a young person to make the most of their future?
If you think you might have what it takes to work alongside young people in housing, helping them to raise their aspirations , develop new skills and take up opportunities – and you’d like a job where no two days are the same -then the YMCA would love to hear from you! Come and work as part of their local team as YMCA develops new services and opportunities for young people in South Somerset. A background in Youth Work, community education, teaching, counselling or supported housing can be really helpful but most important is creativity, energy , determination and an ability to relate positively to vulnerable and sometimes challenging young people.
The two posts are based within their supported housing projects and dispersed accommodation units working directly with vulnerable young people and helping them develop the practical skills and self- belief they need to live independently successfully.
Both posts will work on a three week rolling rota which includes one weekend working in three. Post holders will also be part of the out of hours ‘Emergency on call duty rota’, responding to emergency calls as required.
Salary: £23,413.08 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week / Monday –Friday from 9.00 am to 5.00pm
Closing date: Sunday 22nd July 2018
Interview date: Monday 30th July 2018
