Somerset Youth Alliance Communications & Events Lead

Closing date: Wednesday, 6 November

The Somerset Youth Alliance are looking for a Communications and Events Lead who will support the Alliance to develop and implement branding and communications strategies.

The Somerset Youth Alliance (SYA) is a group of organisations who are working together for young people. They organise youth work training, bring members together to share successes and find solutions, support organisations to be safe and are champions of youth work in Somerset.

The Alliance is hosted by Spark Somerset, which means you’ll join our team of Bright Sparks and will work with the Development Manager, the SYA Steering Group and our member organisations. We believe community organisations are better together and are privileged to be supporting this work. Both the Alliance and Spark Somerset share core values or respect, inclusivity and collaboration.

We are looking for someone who can help us bring our website to life (via an easy-to-use template – no web design skills needed!), work with our members to create a communication plan that suits their needs, and who can coordinate our various meetings and events.

We want to include young people’s opinions in decisions made by the Alliance, but you’ll mostly be working with staff and volunteers from community organisations across the county.

In return, you’ll enjoy various benefits of working for Spark Somerset, like access to an Employee Assistance Programme, hybrid working and a day’s paid volunteering leave per year. You’ll also be part of a small team dedicated to improving the opportunities available for young people.

You’ll find more information, including a person specification, on our job description here.
