We're delighted to have been awarded Shared Prosperity Funding

Awarded by the UK Government, via Somerset Council, the funding will enable us to continue our work to enhance infrastructure, offer support and build capacity within the VCFSE sector by delivering the following projects and initiatives.

2024 State of the Sector report

Through a comprehensive survey, 1:1 interviews and focus groups, we’re gathering data to help us understand the current needs of the sector and advocate on its behalf. The findings will also be used to support the development of services, inform funding priorities and demonstrate our collective impact.

VCFSE Insights Hub

We’re piloting an online tool that will enable organisations across the county to collaborate, share data, identify trends, and gain information that can help shape their services and support their day-to-day activities.

Skills development and training

To further enhance the capacity of the VCFSE community. we are offering a programme of workshops, training and networking events to build the skills, knowledge and confidence of staff, volunteers and leaders.

Diversifying income

Our Funding and Enterprise specialists are supporting VCFSE groups to become more sustainable and consider new ways to generate income, such as social investment, trading, legacies and corporate partnerships.

Skillshare pilot

We’re facilitating the provision of support and training around essential ‘back office’ skills to enable better organisational management, planning and sustainability across the sector.

Extranet

The extranet will provide a space for VCFSE organisations to share and access resources and peer support, discuss challenges and best practice, and post opportunities for partnership working.

Volunteering campaign

Using our online platform Spark a Change as the focus for the campaign, we are working in partnership with key stakeholders such as the NHS, Somerset Council and VCFSE organisations to raise the profile of volunteering and empower more people to get involved.

Community organisers

This project aims to increase the number of volunteers in Highbridge and the Westfield areas of Yeovil. We’re taking a place and asset-based approach, ensuring that all activities will be shaped by the needs and ideas of the local community.
