New Covid Confident Communities booklet published to help groups gather safely and support community spaces to reopen
Across Somerset, voluntary groups play an important role – helping individuals in need, connecting people and ensuring that we have vibrant, supportive communities in which to live.
When Covid-19 hit, many groups based in cafés, community halls and public venues across Somerset, were forced to close. We lost the opportunity to socialise and enjoy human contact and friendship.
The end of lockdown is finally in sight and whilst lots of people are very excited about getting back together, we know that many groups have questions and concerns about how to do so safely. That is why we have produced the Covid Confident Communities booklet.
Whether you’re running a community group, managing volunteers, or are a volunteer working directly with the public, this booklet has been designed to help you get out and about and gather safely again. It will also be useful for anybody who is looking to reopen a community building and accommodate everyone safely.
It’s full of useful information, including:
- How to re-open safely
- Support for your group
- Getting active outdoors
- How to help others
- Looking after your own wellbeing
- Managing post-lockdown anxiety
We hope you find the booklet helpful however if you need any further advice or support then please get in touch via Live Chat or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
