Rural Engagement Adviser, Spark Somerset

It’s an exciting time to join our friendly, supportive team, providing a range of support services to voluntary and community groups

Do you have experience of working within your community and enjoy engaging with a wide variety of people and groups? If so, this could be the role for you.

We’re looking for someone with the skills and knowledge to support groups to develop their capacity and advise around issues of organisational growth and financial sustainability.

You’d be providing a range of advice and support to groups in rural locations within South Somerset, finding out what those communities need, and supporting them to realise their aspirations.

This might include supporting development in the following areas:

  • community transport services
  • community food projects
  • volunteer recruitment
  • partnership working in rural communities
  • supporting recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic
  • plus any other areas in which a need has been identified

This is a part time role, working 22.5 hours a week with flexibility around the days you work. You’ll be home-based, although the majority of work will be within the community of South Somerset.

The annual salary is £25k-£27k pro-rata (depending on experience).
