2024 State of the Sector report
A comprehensive, in-depth review of the state of the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector in Somerset.
We’re piloting anonline tool that will enable organisations across the county to collaborate, share data, identify trends, and gain information that can help shape their services and support their day-to-day activities.
Skills development and training
To further enhance the capacity of the VCFSE community. we are offering a programme of workshops, training and networking events to build the skills, knowledge and confidence of staff, volunteers and leaders.
Our Funding and Enterprise specialists are supporting VCFSE groups to become more sustainableand consider new ways to generate income, such as social investment, trading, legacies and corporate partnerships.
We’re facilitating the provision of support and training around essential ‘back office’ skills to enable better organisational management, planning and sustainability across the sector.
Extranet
The extranet will provide a space for VCFSE organisations to share and access resources and peer support, discuss challenges and best practice, and post opportunities for partnership working.
Volunteering campaign
We are working in partnershipthe NHS, Somerset Council and VCFSE organisations to raise the profile of volunteering and empower more people to get involved.
This project aims to increase the number of volunteers in Highbridge and the Westfield areas of Yeovil. Taking an asset-based approach, we want all activities to be shaped by the needs and ideas of the local community.
