Join The Diversity Trust for a free online workshop exploring the experiences of LGBTQ+ people.
During this session, you'll examine the current situation for LGBTQ+ people in the UK, discuss the impacts on community mental health and wellbeing, and work to identify ways of supporting the community into the future.
The 3-hour workshop is taking place on Thursday 7 December, 9:30am to 12:30pm and will be divided into two parts:
Part one will cover essential topics including history, language and terminology, mental health and wellbeing, and issues facing the LGBTQ+ community in the UK today. Questions will be welcomed throughout the session, with a Slido link provided to do so anonymously.
Part two of the session will be a chance to explore the mental health and wellbeing of LGBTQ+ people in more depth, sharing lived experience examples of the impacts and outcomes the community faces.
Using breakout rooms, attendees will be supported by Diversity Trust's facilitators to identify gaps and areas for improvement in their services’ approaches to working with LGBTQ+ people, and come up with practical ideas for improving inclusion.
Facilitated by Diversity Trust's core LGBTQ+ Team, in partnership with the Somerset Mental Health Network and Somerset Council.
