Lunch & Learn: Budgeting for sustainability (including full cost recovery)

Date: Wednesday, 6 November

Do you ever feel that you are not quite asking for enough to cover the cost of delivering your services?

This session will provide a refresher on good budgeting principles, review how to budget for full cost recovery, and explore new ways to build sustainability.

We will look at:

  • Understanding the benefits of budgeting
  • Knowing how to prepare a simple multi project organisational budget
  • Understanding how budgeting can contribute to sustainability
  • The limitations of full cost recovery and budgeting when building sustainability

Who is it for?

This session is aimed at those volunteering with or working for voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) groups or organisations in Somerset who may be responsible for developing and managing budgets or other aspects of finance.

About the trainer

Your trainer for this session will be Rachel Cooper, Associate Director at Embrace Finance, a charity finance and governance specialist with over 20 years’ experience of successfully leading, supporting and governing charities.

This training is offered as part of a project that is being funded by the UK Government through the Shared Prosperity Fund. Free tickets are solely available to VCFSE staff and volunteers from organisations operating in Somerset.
