We Hear You are looking for two counsellors/therapists to deliver services to adults and children remotely and in person.
We Hear You (WHY) are a vibrant, local charity providing emotional support through free professional counselling for children, young people and adults affected or bereaved by cancer or other life-threatening conditions in Somerset, Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon, and Wiltshire. As well as counselling services, WHY also provide support through art and drama therapy, mindfulness and nature connection courses, and their weekly drop-in cafe.
The charity have vacancies for two counsellors or therapists to join their team and provide one-to-one therapy for adults and children, either remotely or in person, or while sitting/walking in nature. They will also help to deliver complementary therapeutic services such as WHYgrow and WHYoutdoors, as well as other clinical services such as supervision, telephone assessments, and family support sessions when required.
The successful candidates will have a professional qualification in counselling or therapy, and a minimum of two years post-qualification experience. They will have a registration or accreditation with UKCP/BACP/BPC/HCPC or other relevant body, be personable and empathetic, and able to work collaboratively and communicate effectively. Previous experience of working with those affected by cancer and or other life-threatening conditions is desirable but not essential.
These roles are part time, working 18-22 hours per week, with temporary or permanent contracts considered. The salary is £30,000-£34,000 per annum, pro rata.
