Peer Recovery and Wellbeing Worker, Second Step

Second Step are looking for a Peer Recovery and Wellbeing Worker to support those leaving hospital as they transition back to independent living.

Second Step are a leading mental health charity that’s been putting mental health first for people in Somerset for over 30 years. With a mission to promote mental health and wellbeing, Second Step work with the NHS and local authorities to offer housing, support and hope to thousands of people with mental health and complex needs.

They also offer support to those leaving hospital and other acute care units through their Step Down service, providing 1:1 and group advice for individuals transitioning back to independence and into their own accommodation.

Second Step are looking for a Peer Recovery and Wellbeing Worker to join this team and use a recovery-based approach to support people to meet their needs.

The post-holder will equip clients with the tools they need for their wellbeing and recovery. They will provide emotional and psychological support, links to community resources and activities, and help to access education and training.

The successful candidate will be passionate about improving the lived experience and health of people using mental health services. They will have proven knowledge of the support requirements of people with mental health needs, and be practiced at working alongside people using a holistic approach that's tailored to each individual.

This is a full time role, working 37 hours per week on a fixed-term contract until March 2025. The salary is £25,359 per annum.
