Shared Prosperity Funding creates job opportunities

We're delighted to announce that Spark Somerset have been awarded Shared Prosperity Funding from the UK Government, via Somerset Council.

The funding will provide us with a great opportunity to build much needed infrastructure, support and capacity in our wonderful VCFSE sector. As a result, we have several exciting new projects on the horizon and are looking for a number of brilliant people to join our team or work alongside us. These include:

Funding & Enterprise Consultant with expertise in funding strategy, income generation and social enterprise to support collaboration and innovation across the VCFSE sector. Freelance position, working up to 15 days per month at a rate of £250 per day until 31 March 2025.

Experienced Researcher to build upon the 2020 State of the Sector report, reviewing existing research, surveying organisations and facilitating interviews and focus groups to produce a comprehensive, up-to-date report with strategic recommendations. The budget for this work is £15,000 (including VAT).

Community Organisers to engage with local residents, bringing them together as volunteers to deliver a range of initiatives and projects for their communities. Four roles available, two based in Yeovil and two in Highbridge. Full or part time, £30k per annum, 6-month fixed term contract.

Training & Resources Coordinator to create and develop a training and learning programme tailored to the needs of VCFSE groups in Somerset. Full or part time, £23-£26k per annum (depending on experience), 12-month fixed term contract.
