Trainee Education Mental Health Practitioners, Young Somerset

Location - Hybrid working in Bridgwater

Young Somerset are the primary voluntary and community sector youth work organisation in Somerset that put young people first. They deliver a range of recreational and educational services that are aligned to statutory provision, and support young peoples’ personal, social, economic, and educational development.

The charity are looking to recruit a new wave of Trainee Education Mental Health Practitioners to join their growing Mental Health and Wellbeing team, supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people with emotional and/or mental health needs by delivering high-quality, brief outcome focused evidence-based interventions.

The successful candidates will have a minimum of two-years' experience volunteering or working with young people. They will have knowledge of children & young people gained through academic study in child development, child wellbeing or mental health, as well as an understanding of how mental ill-health can present itself in young people. 

Post-holders will also be required to attend taught and self-study days required by the education provider via hybrid study either in Exeter or Bristol, as specified within the National Low Intensity curriculum.

The roles are 37 hours per week on a permanent contract. The annual salary is £24,379.
