Warm Welcome FAQS

Warm Welcome FAQs

What do I need to provide to be a Warm Welcome space?

Each Warm Welcome space will be different, so we don’t have a long list of expectations. As a minimum we’d want you to offer a warm space to sit, a hot drink, some biscuits if you can. We ask all venues to sign up to the Charter which sets out what people can expect when they visit you and how they will be treated. You’ll also need the usual insurance, safeguarding policies and risk assessments in place and we can offer support with this if needed.

How long and often should our Warm Welcome space be open?

As often as you’re able to. We understand that how long you are able to remain open and how often depends on the capacity of your organisation. Anything you can offer will make a huge difference to those who need it!

I’d like to offer a Warm Welcome, where do I sign up?

You can register your venue as a Warm Welcome space here.

I’ve registered - what happens next?

Thank you for helping make Somerset warmer, more resilient place! We will be in touch soon to ensure you have everything in place to open your doors and add your venue to the online map of Warm Welcome spaces in Somerset when it becomes available.

I’m interested in becoming a Warm Welcome space but I have some questions, can you help?

Yes! Please get in touch via the online form and a member of our team will be in touch soon.

My organisation doesn’t have a venue, but we’d like to help.

If your organisation doesn't have a suitable building, we might be able to connect you with another local organisation that does. Or perhaps you could offer to deliver a service or activity within a Warm Welcome space? Please get in touch via this form to discuss your options with a member of our team.

Where can I see the Warm Welcome map?

We are currently adding Warm Welcome spaces and the facilities they offer to an online map and will share it here soon.

Is a Warm Welcome just for winter?

Not neccessarily! Warm Welcome spaces have the potential to be a sustainable and long-term solution to local needs, and we are keen to support any providers who would like to explore this further.
